God is the giver of LIFE and the Creator of all things. He is where all LIFE began. He reigns over all things and has always existed as three distinct beings: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. God relentlessly desires and pursues a personal, intimate, and eternal relationship with us, His children..
However, sin entered the world through the first man and woman, and our relationship with God was broken and distorted. There was and is nothing we can do on our own to reestablish that union with our Father… BUT we also believe that God did not abandon His creation to destruction and decay; rather He promised to restore this broken world and bring us NEW LIFE in Him.
God made the way possible in Jesus Christ, who was born of a virgin, mysteriously God in the flesh. He came to preach good news to the poor, to bind up the broken-hearted and set captives free. He LIVED a perfect LIFE and proclaimed the arrival of the Kingdom. He was rejected by many, crucified, buried, and rose again. Through Him, the Son of God, we have been forgiven, and have received NEW LIFE. Our relationship with God has been made right again, with Jesus being the only mediator between God and us. Everyone who accepts His sacrifice is given the Holy Spirit Who helps us walk in this NEW LIFE of worship and missional expression of our faith.
We cannot accomplish it on our own. Forgiveness of sins and the promise of new and eternal LIFE are available to those who trust Christ as Savior and Lord. Those accepting Christ repent of sin, confess their faith, and are baptized into Him.
He helps us as Christ-followers to LIVE the LIFE that God has always wanted us to have. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and equips and empowers each with talents and abilities for the purpose of building up God’s kingdom.
It makes the way possible for us, as broken and sinful people, to be healed and brought back into a right relationship with Him. It is a book made up of the voices of many who have come before us and it can be contextualized to any culture on earth. It is entirely inspired by God and is accurate, complete and reliable. His desire is for us to faithfully apply this book in a way to continue to faithfully LIVE out that story today as we are led by the Holy Spirit.
It is comprised of all those who acknowledge Him as Savior and Lord. The church is empowered by the Holy Spirit to LIVE in a relevant way to put the resurrected Christ who LIVES in and through us on display to a broken and hurting world.
